The Washed-Up: An unofficial playbook for Interstitial 2nd Edition

You used to be somebody. Now you’re just another old fool with some amusing stories. Not crafty enough to be The Mystic, not cruel enough to be The Dark, and not strong enough to be The Paladen. But the call of adventure has come for you, and you know from experience it’s not one that can be refused.

This is a playbook for being a washed-up figure of legend, whether they be a retired hero, a reformed villain, or a character who has grown older and more distant from their original story. It places emphasis on having a pre-existing legacy with loose threads and locked links, as well as being an imperfect mentor figure, lacking the guile of The Mystic or The Dark. Instead, they inspire their apprentices to do better, either as an inspiration or as an example. 

Examples of Has-Beens: Peter B. Parker, Rusty Venture (really any character from The Venture Brothers if we're being honest), Guybrush Threepwood, Joseph Joestar, Felonius Gru, Grunkle Stan, Austin Powers, All-Might, Spike Spiegal, Harry DuBois, Post-story AU versions of characters.
